3.0.5 (2018-11-08 for Linux and Windows)

New Feature/Enhancement:

  • Optimize the AP firmware online upgrade process, and add an upgrade prompt in the AP list.
  • Adjust the EAP maximum transmit power limit in EAP private configuration page according to the regulations.

Bug Fixed:

  • Fixed the bug that Omada Controller Linux may fail to self-start with system.
  • Fixed the bug that if the PC modifies the local loopback address ( or some network interface without MAC address, Controller Linux cannot bind the cloud account and appears General Error.
  • Fixed the bug that Omada Controller may not display normally in IE browser.
  • Fixed the bug that the browser will hint to download files when uploading map or other files to Omada Controller in IE browser.
  • Fixed the bug that the suffix name of the export file of Trust APs may be wrong when export it on Safari browser.
  • Fixed the bug that 2.4G radio configuration page of Mesh AP may appear channel limit selection option.
  • Fixed the bug that Auto Backup can’t take effect when you backup/restore configuration file among Windows Controller/Linux Controller/OC200, since the Auto Backup file path does not match with each other.
  • Fixed the bug that Device Account of Omada Controller 3.0.2 does not support special character, such as !@#$%^&*.

3.0.2 (2018-09-05 for Linux) (2018-08-17 for Windows)

New Feature/Enhancement:

  • Support Cloud Access function which allows you to manage Omada Controller remotely conveniently.
  • Support Omada APP management method. (You can manage Omada Controller with Omada APP)
  • Support EAP firmware online upgrade function.
  • Support configuration/data files auto backup function.
  • Improve the Backup & Restore function, backup files can contain configuration only or both configuration and database information in a specific time.
  • Add AP MAC, SSID parameters in the External Web Portal URL which is distributed from controller to client. (When you are using External RADIUS Server Portal function with External Web Portal)
  • Batch Upgrade function now will only take effect to EAP which belong to the current site.
  • UI Optimization. Rearranged the configuration options in Site Settings list (only take effect to current site) or Controller Settings list (take effect to all sites) according to the actual function.
  • Start Omada Controller via jsvc to realize Root Privilege separation function. (For deb installation package, it will create a non-root account called omada to run Omada Controller in default.
  • Change the default port of mongod from 27017 to 27217.

Bug Fixed:

  • Fixed the bug that Omada Controller may not be started successfully if modified the http.connector.port in
  • Synchronously fixed the bugs of Omada Controller Windows (From 2.5.4 to 3.0.2).

2.7.0 (2018-07-24 for Windows)

New Feature/Enhancement:

  • Add support for Mesh networking which allows you to deploy EAP wirelessly.
  • Add support for Fast Roaming (802.11 k/v) which can improve user experience when roaming between the EAPs.
  • Add “Managed by others” status for the EAP managed by other Omada Controller before in Pending list.
  • Add username/password verification when forget and readopt disconnected EAPs.
  • Change the name of EAP Discover Utility to “Omada Discover Utility”.
  • Optimize the SSID Override feature in EAP private configuration page.
  • Add icons for sea wave ceiling AP, wall-plate AP and Outdoor AP.
  • Enhance the security of sensitive information like Operator Password, Twilio AuthToken, Radius Password, etc.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fix the bug that the database volume grows too fast.
  • Fix the bug that EAP can’t be managed immediately after reboot.
  • Fix the bug that the number of wireless clients on the Omada Controller page is inconsistent.

2.6.1 (2018-04-13 for Windows)

New Features/Improvements:

  • Safety performance optimization.
  • Web UI optimization.
  • Optimized the format requirement and handling mechanism for Local User Account importing files.

Bug Fixed:

  • Fixed the bug that clients may lose the authorized status in the next ten minutes, after passing the Facebook Portal authentication.
  • Fixed the bug that customer can add port number except for port 1024~65535, if customer has already added http/https prefix in the URL of Free Authentication Policy.
  • Fixed the bug that Controller will still adopt the EAP, after skipping the Select Devices process in the quick setup wizard of Omada Controller.

2.6.0 (2018-02-28 for Windows)

New Features/Improvements:

  • Supports rate limit function for a single client. (If you have set SSID, Client, Voucher rate limit together, the minimum limit value will take effect.)
  • RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication) of clients will be displayed in the clients list of Omada Controller.
  • Added Historical Data Retention function to clean history and cache files of Omada Controller periodically.
  • Improved the Portal Authentication mechanism. Users who didn’t pass the authentication cannot access local network.
  • HTTPS now supports the redirection of portal authentication page.
  • Facebook Portal now intercepts HTTPS access unless you pass the authentication.
  • Added Daily Limit function to No Authentication portal. After authentication times out, users cannot get authenticated again in one day.
  • Supports single and bulk printing of Voucher code.
  • Omada Controller will create Free Authentication Policy automatically when the External Web Portal Server or External Portal Server is configured.
  • Increased the synchronization update process on Omada Controller when the IP address of EAP is changed.
  • Added error messages that port is already occupied or another Controller is already running in the subnet when starting the Omada Controller.
  • Changed the name of EAP Controller to Omada Controller

Bug Fixed:

  • Added Term of Use function back in portal authentication page.
  • Fix the bug that cannot add Background Picture or Logo Picture in Portal login page when image size is less than 2MB.
  • Fix the bug that the Top-Level Domain of e-mail address cannot exceed 4 English characters.
  • Fix the bug that set Facebook Portal authentication failed when using Firefox browser with private mode and tracking protection function enabled.
  • Fix the bug that cannot login the portal authentication page after changing the default HTTP port (8088) of Omada Controller (you also need to upgrade the corresponding firmware of EAP which fixed this bug).
  • Fix the bug that cannot search the AP name with a blank in the Access Points and Clients list of Omada Controller.
